Ravis Technology Partners with TOPT and TCELS to Advance Health Product Testing under OECD Standards

September 12, 2024

Ravis Technology partners with TCELS and the Thailand OECD GLP Preclinical Testing (TOPT) Network to promote the testing of extracts and health products in alignment with Thailand’s OECD membership policy.

Following Thailand’s submission of its official letter of intent to join the OECD on April 16, 2024, Ravis Technology has partnered with TCELS and the nationwide Thailand OECD GLP Preclinical Testing (TOPT) Network to support the government’s efforts to join the OECD. This collaboration aims to enhance the country’s competitiveness in testing pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, medical devices, agricultural chemicals, and industrial chemicals through the TOPT laboratory network, accredited by the OECD and associated partners. The goal is to reduce non-tariff barriers, boost exports to 45 countries worldwide without requiring redundant tests, simplify procedures, reduce trade barriers, and increase the nation’s competitive edge, while driving growth in the life sciences industry and strengthening the Thai economy.

Currently, the TOPT laboratory network, accredited under OECD standards across the country, includes Department of Medical Sciences Ministry of Public Health, National Laboratory Animal Center of Mahidol University, Expert Center of Innovative Herbal Products and Biodiversity Research Centre at the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research, National Primate Research Center of Thailand-Chulalongkorn University, and Center of Excellence in Natural Products Innovation, Mae Fah Luang University.

This year presents a great opportunity for the TOPT network, which has expanded to include four new members: Naresuan University, Central Laboratory (Thailand) Co., Ltd., KWHB Co., Ltd., and Ravis Technology Co., Ltd. These new additions will strengthen the testing capabilities and promote product testing for registration with OECD GLP member countries. The enhanced network will provide more robust services in quality testing and analysis of pharmaceuticals, herbal extracts, and new chemicals, cell testing, animal testing (fish, rodents, primates), cosmetic product testing, and biocompatibility testing of medical devices. This will help add value to the industry and drive Thailand’s progress beyond the middle-income trap.
